PR Redirection in Job Status is available for the US and Canada to allow for the redirection of all overtime (OT) wages. A JC/REDIROT parameter determines how these OT wages should be redirected: premium portion only or all OT wages, including associated burdens, allocations, and hours. Such processing allows users to estimate, budget, and forecast various components of labor, including OT costs.
Configuration
A JC/REDIROT parameter lets you determine how overtime wages should be redirected:
Only the premium portion of the overtime wages, or
All overtime wages including associated burdens, allocations, and hours.
This parameter is only used when the option to redirect Premium Labor is checked. When you check the Premium Labor box on the Payroll Redirection layout of Job Status > Jobs > Payroll Info tab or on the Payroll Redirection tab of Job Status > Setup > Setup Maintenance > Job Group, a message displays to inform you about the current setting of the parameter. It clearly highlights how Premium Labor is redirected.
Parameter | Description |
JC/REDIROT | Determine how the overtime wages are redirected β the premium portion of the overtime wages only, or all overtime wages including associated burdens, allocations, and hours. |
Payroll Redirection of JC Jobs and JC Job Groups
When you check the Premium Labor box on the Payroll Redirection layout of Job Status > Jobs > Payroll Info tab or on the Payroll Redirection tab of Job Status > Setup > Setup Maintenance > Job Group, a message displays to inform you about the current setting of Payroll parameter JC/REDIROT. It clearly highlights how Premium Labor is redirected.
If parameter JC/REDIROT is set up as ALL, and the Premium Labor is set up for PR Redirection, the other PR Elements cannot be redirected. PR Redirection for these elements is disabled for entry, as shown in PR Redirection for Job Group (JC/REDIROT = ALL). This is also done when you change a Job Group for the Job, as shown in PR Redirection for Job Group (JC/REDIROT setup into PREMIUM).

Payroll Calculation
When the Payroll Calculation function is run for Payroll and the Premium Labor is to be redirected, the JC/REDIROT parameter helps to determine if only the premium portion of overtime and double time is redirected, or if all overtime and double time wages, hours, and associated burdens are redirected.
For example, here is a PR Transaction:
Reg Hours: 40.00 Reg Rate: $ 50.00 Reg Amount: $ 2,000.00
OT Hours:10.00 OT Rate: $ 50.00 * 1.5 = $ 75.00 OT Amount: $ 750.00
DT Hours: 10.00 DT Rate: $ 50.00 * 2.0 = $ 100.00 DT Amount: $1,000.00
If the JC/REDIROT parameter is set up as PREMIUM, only the premium wage is redirected (standard process). Hours are not redirected, and for our example, it is as follows:
OT Premium = OT Amount - OT Amount / OT Multiplier = $ 750.00 - $ 750.00 / 1.5 = $ 250.00
DT Premium = DT Amount - DT Amount / DT Multiplier = $ 1,000 - $ 1,000 / 2.0 = $ 500.00
Premium Wage = OT Premium + DT Premium = $ 250.00 + $ 500.00 = $ 750.00
If the JC/REDIROT parameter is set up as ALL, absolutely all overtime and double time wages, including associated burdens, allocations, and hours, are redirected, and for our example, it is as follows:
Redirected OT and DT Wages = OT Amount + DT Amount = $ 750.00 + $ 1,000.00 = $ 1,750.00
Redirected OT and DT Hours = OT Hours + DT Hours = 10.00 + 10.00 = 20.00
In this case, the Non Premium Labor, Reimbursable, and Regular part of burdens, allocations, and hours are not redirected.
The Premium Labor burden is the same as the burden in detail. The Payroll Check History was previously updated to hold burden detail for regular, overtime, and double time. The burden values calculated for overtime and double time are now redirected along with the hours and wages outlined above.
Gross Payroll Register
The Job Detail version of the Gross Payroll Register takes into account the parameter and the redirection of overtime. If the JC/REDIROT parameter is set up as ALL, the Job has PR Redirection set up to redirect Premium Labor, and the Break Out Reg, Ovt, Dbl Hours option is checked for the report, only the Regular Part is present for the original analysis, and only Overtime and Double Time parts are present for the redirected analysis.
Also, all amounts were previously broken out into Regular/Overtime/Double Time parts in the proration of the Regular, OT, and DT amounts (or SLR amounts). Payroll Check History is used instead, and the Reimbursable is always on the Regular part.
