Overview
Forecast Spread Export/Import functionality allows you to work with forecast spread data in Excel, making it much faster and easier to update multiple cost codes across periods at once if the cost code is not set up to do automatic spreading.
Exporting Forecast Spread Data
Navigate to your Forecast for the relevant job.
Open the Cost Code Spreads screen.
Access the menu (three horizontal lines) in the top-left.
Select Export Forecast Spread Data. Coins ERP+ will:
Create an Excel file with your current spread data
The export creates a timestamped file each time, so you won't overwrite previous exports.
Save it to your My Files area
Optionally email the file to you
Working in Excel
Open the downloaded Excel file. You'll see columns for:
Cost codes.
Cost descriptions.
To Complete amounts.
Remaining values.
Future fiscal periods (one column per period)
Make your updates to cost codes that are manually spread.
Cost codes that are automatically spread cannot be edited via the Excel export/import function.
Enter spread values across periods.
Copy and paste values to multiple rows.
Use Excel formulas to calculate distributions.
Add header rows if needed for organization.
Save the file when complete.
Close Excel before importing.
Always close Excel before importing or you may get a file-in-use error.
Importing Forecast Spread Data
Return to the same Future Period Spreads screen in Coins ERP+.
Access the menu.
Select Import Forecast Spread Data.
Select Browse to select your updated Excel file.
Specify how many rows to skip (if you added header rows).
Select Next or Import. Coins ERP+ will:
Import your spread values for all periods.
Recalculate the "To Complete" totals based on your spreads.
Update the remaining values and analysis fields.
Validate the data and alert you to any issues.
