Do not go to the Google Play Store. Unlike the live app, neither of these apps can be obtained directly from the Google Play Store. They must be downloaded from Firebase App Tester.

For the installation, you will need access to a Gmail or Google account on your phone (the same one you use for the Google Play Store).

This guide covers how to install non-live Coins POP Apps on Android. Coins RC (Release Candidate) contains both customer-facing, non-live test environments in one app.

Installing the App

First, enter the relevant URL listed below to open the join page of the environment you are going to be using:

  1. Enter your email address in the Email field and tap “Sign up”. If you entered a valid email, you will receive a message saying, “You’re in!”

  2. Open the email from Coins and tap the “Get started” link under step 2.

  3. To download Firebase App Tester, tap “Download App Tester”, then tap “Download” on the confirmation message. Finally, tap “Install” on the popup.

  4. Depending on your security settings, you may initially be blocked from installing the app. If this is the case, tap “Settings” on the popup, then switch the “Allow from this source” toggle to enable the install.

  5. When the Firebase App Tester app has finished installing, you will receive an “App installed” popup message. Tap “Open” on the popup to open the app.

  6. Sign in to Firebase App Tester.

  7. The app versions available to download are listed in order of recency. The most up-to-date version will be at the top of the list and will be marked “latest”. Tap “Download” on the version you wish to install.

  8. Once again, depending on your security settings, you may initially be blocked from installing the app. If this is the case, tap “Settings” on the popup, then switch the “Allow from this source” toggle to enable the install.

  9. Once the COINS app has downloaded, the “Download” button from step 8 will change to an “Open” button. Tap “Open” to open the app.

Changing Testing Track

This section covers how to change the testing track you are using (for example, moving from UAT to upgrade testing).

  1. Contact Access Coins support to inform them that you wish to change POP Apps testing track. Make sure to provide the email address you used to sign in to the Firebase App Tester app.

  2. Access Coins support will remove you from your current testing track, after which you will lose access to it. You will receive an email notification to the address you provided, confirming that you have been removed from the existing track.

  3. Once you have received the email notification, you can repeat the process from the Installing the App section. Make sure to follow the link to the new track you wish to use before step 1.

Logging In

The login process is the same across all environments (UAT, live, etc.) but you will need separate login credentials for each environment. Once your account has been setup, you will receive an invitation email from Coins.

Activating Your Account

To activate your account, open the invitation email and click the ‘Activate Your Account’ link.

The link expires after 24 hours. If it has already expired, you can either request a new email from your administrator or use the forgotten password feature to activate your account.

To use the forgotten password feature:

  1. Open the Coins app, select ‘Sign in with Coins’, then tap the ‘Forgot password?’ link below the login button.

  2. Enter your username and tap the ‘Request’ button.

  3. Open the password reset email and click the ‘Reset Your Password’ link to set a password and activate your account.

Signing in with Coins

  1. Open the Coins app and enter your Coins credentials beneath where it says ‘Sign in with Coins’.

  2. Tap ‘SIGN IN’.

Signing in with Microsoft

  1. Open the Coins app and select ‘Sign in with Microsoft’.

  2. Enter the email address linked to your Coins account and tap ‘Next’.

  3. Enter your Microsoft password and tap ‘Sign in’.

  4. If this is your first time signing in to Coins with Microsoft, you will receive a confirmation email. Open the email and click the ‘Accept’ link to confirm.
