Overview

PR Redirection in Coins ERP+ allows masking for the Cost Type field. PR Calculation combines time card analysis with Job Cost Type masking.

This functionality can:

  • Allow you to set up your standard items as Standard Cost Types while allowing you to budget hours for regular labor, overtime (OT) labor, and job labor for a standard task.

  • Enable you to use Activities (as needed) and map Commodity Codes to Standard Cost Types for non-labor items.

  • Prevent incorrect combinations that can happen if split between Activities and Cost Types.

This functionality applies to the US and Canadian Regions only.

JC Job Group

The Payroll Redirection tab on the Job Group Update screen (Job Status > Setup > Setup Maintenance > Job Group) allows masking for the Cost Type field, as shown in JC Job Group Update Screen.

If a Cost Type is not a mask (it does not have an underscore “_”), verification still determines whether the entered Cost Type exists. This means that only existing cost codes and templates are allowed for the Cost Type. Otherwise, the following error message appears: “Standard cost type … does not exist. [JC619]”.

JC Jobs

The Payroll Redirection area on the Payroll Info section of Job Status Jobs allows masking for the Cost Type field, as shown in JC Jobs.

This means that only existing cost codes and templates are allowed for the Cost Type. Otherwise, the following error message appears: “Standard cost type … does not exist. [JC619]”.

PR Payroll Calculation

Payroll Calculation processing (Payroll > [frequency]> Calculation) combines time card analysis with Job Cost Type masking. Listed below are examples of the processing that can occur.

  • If the mask is _ _ _ L, an attempt is made to substitute the first 3 characters from the time card’s Cost Type. If 3 characters are not available, a warning is received during PR Calculation that the Payroll Redirection analysis for certain items (such as Gross Labor, Gross Labor Premium Only, Taxes, etc.) is invalid.

  • If the Job Cost Type mask is 100_, and the Cost Type is L on the time card level, the resulting Cost Type is 100L.

  • If the Job Cost Type mask is _ _ _, the resulting Cost Type is retrieved completely from the time card level.

  • If the cost code of the Payroll Redirection analysis does not exist, an Invalid Analysis error is received during Validate Batch or other appropriate TS Group validations. Processing is automatically stopped, and you must address the problem by making necessary corrections and ensuring that Payroll Redirection works.
