PR Rates by Employee: Overview
Payroll can define the defaulting of pay rates for an Employee in the Employee File. The Default Rate From field in Company Setup > Company Configuration > Other tab allows Coins ERP+ users to set the default value when adding new employees. This functionality affects all Timesheet entry functions, including Quick Adds, Transfer Timecard functions, and Load Timesheets.
This functionality is for the US and Canadian regions.
PR Company Configuration
The Default Rate From field on the Timesheet Setup layout in PR > Company Setup > Company Configuration > Other Tab originally had the following two options to determine how the rates of pay should default to timecards: Greater of Prev Wage/Union/Employee and Order of Prev Wage/Union/Employee. This was expanded to include the highlighted options shown in Default Rate From (Company Configuration).
Default Rate From (Company Configuration)
PR Employee Maintenance
The Default Rate From field is found on the Pay Information layout in PR > Employee Maintenance > Employee Details tab > Profile tab, as shown in Default Rate From (Employee Maintenance). This field defaults from the Pay Company field, but can be changed manually.

Employee Bulk Update
A Default Rate column is found on the Employee Bulk Update screen in PR > Company Setup > Employee Administration, as shown in Default Rate Column. This field cannot be changed manually.

Load Employee Data
The Load Employee Data function in PR > Company Setup > Employee Administration can retrieve the Default Rate from the upload file. If this information is absent in the upload file and blank in the employee record, the Default Rate defaults from the appropriate field of the PR Pay Company.
Timesheet Entry
Timeheet entry functions default rates according to the Default Rate From option from the Employee File rather than from the PR Pay Company. The affected functions include Quick Adds, Transfer Timecard functions, and Load Timesheets.
